Hello, it is I, Nara, arisen from exhaustion and my first day at work!
So sorry for not blogging so much lately, life's crazy! School started again, you need to have social contact once a while (sooo unnecessary ;) ), do other stuff... There is just no time for anything.
And now it's just going to get worse - Lou and I both had our first day at work!
I spent five hours at 'Gröninger' today, an underground restaurant where they brew their own beer. I have been there couple of times when I was younger and I liked the atmosphere a lot back then (though I didn't have the possibility of drinking their nice beer), so I decided to just give it a try!
And it was a lot of fun, my colleagues are really nice and funny, we share the same humor, we matched pretty well. Also the costumers are all really nice, they all come to our restaurant to have a good time and have fun, it doesn't really feel like work when you serve them!
It is still pretty exhausting though, carrying around beer isn't the easiest thing to do. Plus, it wasn't even full today and I was running back and forth a lot... So I guess there is more to come!
The rather sad part is, as already mentioned, the restaurant a basement, so you have no idea what is going on outside. There could be a hurricane happening and you wouldn't know.
And we had nice weather today, which I found out when I was done with work and of course it was dark by then.
Anywho, looks like this is how I am going to spend my weekends, serving people beer! (Isn't that just a dream come true)
I still have another job interview next week though, as an animator for ecological kid's birthday-parties. Really curious how that's going to turn out!

First day at work // Diets are hard
This is what a good friend of ours bought us. I find it adequate.
Take care folks!

Detox gone right // Who needs horizontal shelves anyways?
Hello, it is we, arisen from Nirvana and drilling dust... again.
Today, I have reached Nirvana.
I started my day with a improvised green-smoothie which tasted surprisingly tasty! Still have to work on it a little, but as soon as we have a nice recipe, we're obviously going to post it here ;)
Then, a friend of mine had a coupon for a spa-visit, called the "Hamam Palace".
To get there we had to take a journey to "Wilhemsburg" (unfortunately, not in New York) and is another part of Hamburg I hadn't discovered yet.
It's in the south and there's a lot of industry, but since about two years, it's renewing itself, offering more and more affordable flats, so more students can move there (we actually considered moving there, too).

"Hamam" is a kind of Turkish sauna where you pour hot water over your body and lie on heated stones until every kind of tension completely falls off our body. You can get massages there, too, but I was set for now.
Afterwards we even got tea and a fruit-plate (I was so relaxed, I even drank tea... And I really, really don't like tea! And it was delicious!) and felt like we were floating outside of our bodies~
Definitely going to return!
Later, after preparing a birthday cake (Yes, detox went as fast as it came) we decided to work a little on Lou's room and smash his shelve on the wall...
It didn't really work though, somehow it's tilted and won't really stay on the wall. And we were too annoyed to further deal with the problem, so we decided to postpone it until tomorrow.. haha
Nothing really special today, we try to keep our lives interesting!

International Women's Day // Because 2.5l vanilla ice-cream doesn't seem enough
Hello, it is we, arisen from drilling dust with ice-cream smeared on our faces!
As we already mentioned our post yesterday, we both don't have curtains yet. And my window is the one facing the bus stop. So my father and I were always talking about a date to do that and kept rescheduling... Until I decided today to just woman-up and do it myself. I mean, come on, it's international women's day - there just is no better time!
As you may see - I was successful ( there was a lot of cursing and yelling during the process though... Apparently it's just something I need to do when it comes to doing stuff in the apartment... )
We don't know about y'alls weather conditions, but we've had a pretty delightful day! It was warm (up to 16 degrees) and since we have a car for the weekend, we decided to do one-week's shopping within one hour of free parking time ( needless to say we failed )...
AND THEN (because we clearly aren't shoving enough food in us already) we saw this 2.5l vanilla ice-cream box winking at us from the freezer... It didn't take too long until we were convinced.
It was the perfect weather to welcome the ice-cream season by having some on our little balcony. We hope you can enjoy the weather wherever you live, too and never forget - a spoon of sweetness a day, keeps the sorrow away ;)

Pimp the Crib // Bob the Brush
Hello, it is we, arisen from paint and laughter!
Since we just moved into our new place a month ago, it's still messy and unorganized and partly unpainted and and and... for example we both still don't have curtains and from one window you can look into another building and the other window points to the bus stop... Yeah, we really really need curtains.
And we don't have a shower curtain, which pretty much means that every time we shower, we cuddle with the wall so we don't flood our bathroom ( we have a cake stand, but no shower curtain. That's the right way to set priorities! )
However! We finally managed to paint our kitchen... A simple brown border across the wall. The color is called "Cappuccino" - we do not want to specify the color while it was still moist
So, after a little while of nail-biting and hoping that t
he color would turn out right, we got this! It's not much, but very modern and simple and we like it a lot :) We still have a lot of paint leftover and we are eager to use it on another white wall!
Now, let's get to the laughter part, shall we?
Bob the brush, huh? One might wonder what that is. As already mentioned, we still have a lot of things missing in our apartment.
One of those was a toilet brush.
We weren't really looking for one, but it is always better to have one, since everyone has one and... well, you just never know.
So, we sat down and browsed through amazon.
Nara's needs in a toilet brush: Simple, easy to ignore. Toilet brushes aren't supposed to draw attention.
Lou's needs in a toilet brush: It should make me happy when I use it and when I sit next to it.
You can imagine, it took quite a while to decide.
In the end it was down to a flowerpot toilet brush or... Bob.
We'd like you to welcome our new addition to our cozy home. May he endure a fulfilling life here...
